Please have a look through and see if we can help with your question here. Alternatively you can contact us directly and ask anything you like: enquiries@guitar-breaks.com
Q: What is included in the Guitar Breaks Holiday? A: The holiday includes all accommodation, all food at the venue (including breakfast, lunch and dinner), venue facilities, all guitar sessions, workshops, Q&A, jams, 1-2-1 sessions and live performances.
Q: And what is not included? A: Airport/ferry/train transfers are not included. Guitar Breaks can arrange for you to be collected and dropped off at a specified terminal for an extra fee. Meals and drinks on a previously specified day at the venue are not included, nor are meals or drinks during any day trips. Contact Guitar Breaks for more details at enquiries@guitar-breaks.com
Q: How do I get to Guitar Breaks? A:If you are bringing or hiring a car we recommend you bring a sat nav with you. Alternatively please contact us and we can supply you with detailed directions, or give you contact numbers for suitable taxi companies. Please check the Location page for more information.
Q: If I want to share a room with another guitarist to keep my costs down, how do I do this? A: We recommend you invite a guitar playing friend or acquaintance to join you, or you can share with another guitarist who is attending the workshop. IMPORTANT: the 'sharing' price listed on the booking page is only relevant to people sharing a room (when available). Otherwise you will need to consider going single occupancy.
Q: How do I know if I’m going to be at the right guitar playing level? A: Guitar Breaks is for players who love the guitar and guitar equipment and want to spend time with like-minded people in beautiful surroundings. Perhaps you have been playing for 6 months and already know your open chords and can play some melodies. Maybe you have been playing the guitar on and off for many years, can play bar chords and some solos, but feel that you have yet to fully develop your potential. In the end we are all here because we love the guitar!
Q: Should I bring my electric guitar? A: Yes, you should. We do have a small stock of electric (and acoustic) guitars which may be rented for the duration of your stay, but it is better if you bring your own. If you feel you need to rent an instrument, please contact us immediately: enquiries@guitar-breaks.com. First come, first served.....
Q: What about disposables such as strings, picks, leads, etc.? A: It’s a good idea to bring something that you particularly like to use. For example if you like specific strings or gauges. We do have a stock of general items from our lovely friends at Ernie Ball and Curt Mangan. And we can always pop to the local music store for specifics.
Q: What about amplifiers for practising in my room? A: We don’t supply practise amps for the obvious reasons (!). We do recommend for practise you download an amplifier app onto your phone and purchase the cable adaptor (as required). A good example is the Amplitude app by IK Multimedia, but there are plenty to choose from.
Q: How are the days structured during the holiday? A: After breakfast, each day has a focussed and themed morning session that involves all guitarists. There may be one group or two depending on numbers. Then there is lunch. The afternoon is made up of breakout sessions whereby our special guests and staff members are available to discuss the morning’s session in more detail, or do something completely different. Then there is downtime for relaxing, chatting or jamming prior to the evening dinner. On one evening there will be a relaxed live performance opportunity at the local bar or pub (subject to availability).
Q: I want to pay for my holiday using PayPal. Can I do that? A: Yes. Guitar Breaks has a PayPal account. You can use our email address enquiries@guitar-breaks.com to make a payment using PayPal. Please remember there is a minimum 3.4% European surcharge for using Paypal to cover their fees. Unfortunately the surcharge can be higher if you are paying from outside Europe.
Q: I have a dietary issue, can the hotel accommodate this? A: Yes, the caterers can accommodate a number of dietary requirements. If you wish to discuss this further please contact us at enquiries@guitar-breaks.com. A member of the team will get straight back to you.
Q: Is the venue and the surrounding area suitable for people with mobility issues? A: The venue and the staff at Guitar Breaks do make reasonable adjustments for people with mobility issues. However it is definitely worth contacting us to discuss prior to booking: enquiries@guitar-breaks.com
Q: Can my partner attend the holiday as well? They do not play guitar and won’t attend the workshops or classes. A: If you wish to bring your partner with you, they are more than welcome. Please contact us to discuss prices for a non-participating partner and the type of activities that are available to them during their stay.
and remember, if you have any other questions at all, please do not hesitate to contact us: enquiries@guitar-breaks.com
