Jeff McErlain and Guests

THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN EVERY DAY!!

What? Jeff McErlain, Dan Steinhardt and Patrick Eggle? Now that’s what I call a full-on weekend of guitar! If you want to get the best out of your playing, your guitar AND your gear, this is the workshop for you.

Albright Hussey Manor Hotel, Ellesmere Rd, Shrewsbury SY4 3AF

A rare opportunity to learn and hang with these three guitar greats

You want legends?

A three day workshop, based at the Albright Hussey Manor Hotel, Shrewsbury, England, covering key elements of every guitarist’s pathway to becoming a better player with a better tone. This is an opportunity to learn from not one, but three of the guitar world’s leading exponents!

Running from the 12th to the 14th September 2025* (arriving at the hotel on the 11th), we will be in Shrewsbury, West Midlands, for our very special residential guitar retreat with the critically acclaimed guitarists: Jeff McErlain and Daniel Steinhardt, plus legendary luthier Patrick Eggle

Please Note: Dan Steinhardt will be joining Jeff for Friday 12th.

*For more details, see ‘Dates for Arrival and Departure’ below

Jeff McErlain

Jeff is one of the rare musicians who can teach as well as he plays. This is borne out by Jeff being one of the most in demand guitar instructors as well as performing and recording with guitar legends Robben Ford and Matt Schofield.

Jeff’s unique curriculum and method of teaching is perfect for the player who has been working at the guitar for a while but wants to go to the next level.

We love Jeff’s style, his teaching methods and his tone. He’s got a great line in hats too!

Dan Steinhardt

Dan makes up 50% of the hugely influential ‘That Pedal Show’ YouTube channel. and is also boss man at TheGigRig, a company dedicated to helping guitarists and bass players achieve constant inspiration from their tones. Dan has also been a professional guitar player since he was about, ooh, eight.

Inspired by the search for great tone and the never-ending challenge of developing his playing, Dan is a long-time friend of Guitar Breaks and was part of our very first workshop ‘back in the day’. Welcome back, Dan!

Patrick Eggle

Born in St Albans, England in 1964, the third child of a building engineer and woodwork enthusiast father and an artist mother, Patrick was encouraged by his parents and his school woodwork teacher to build his first guitar as a project. Dissatisfied with the results, he pulled it apart and started work on another, then another…. An obsession was born!

Over the decades Patrick has gained a reputation for designing and building some of the finest guitars in the world, some of which have been owned by icons such as Toni Iommi, Albert Lee, Rory Gallagher and Rob Harris to name a very few.

We love Patrick’s guitars and we reckon you will too!

  • Pushing Your Technique: Engage in targeted exercises to improve your speed, accuracy, and finger strength, taking your technical skills to the next level.
  • Focus on Musicality: After all, we are playing music, but playing musically takes time and effort. Learn how to tap into your creativity and musicality.
