Spend the day getting inside the key techniques that can add some ‘Hendrix’ to your playing with our special guest, Mike Bradley.

We all love a bit of Hendrix, right? However for many guitarists trying to replicate some of those inspiring rhythm and lead techniques can be a bit of a mystery. But no more! On this special one day workshop, Mike Bradley will be deep diving into the techniques, chord voicings and lead elements that are central to Jimi’s sound, giving you the chance to add some Hendrix to your playing.

Mike told us “When I was a kid, I was always amazed at the rhythm playing of Jimi Hendrix, and always wondered how he did it. I now know, and can’t wait to share it with you.”

Topics covered during this exclusive workshop day include:

-The CAGED System and how to make it work for you

– Using the CAGED system with our Pentatonic scales

– Adding colour tones to our “standard” chords

– Having fun with Double stops

– Getting THAT tone and feel to your playing

Featured tracks for the day are the Hendrix classics:

– Axis Bold of Love

– Little Wing

– All Along the Watchtower

Mike’s Biography:

Mike has been playing the guitar since he was 12 years old, and from that first moment his love affair with music and the instrument began. Fresh out of school at the age of 16 he attended the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford and completed a year-long Diploma course.

After finishing ACM, Mike’s life as a full time musician began, playing in numerous bands and touring up and down the country playing iconic venues such as The Shepherds Bush Empire, The Astoria, The Underworld and London’s Jazz Café. He’s also been fortunate enough to support industry legends Paul Weller, Blondie and Katie Melua.

Mike’s session work has led to his working on a variety of projects – from performing with stars such as Ricky Wilson and Diana Vickers, to appearing in many TV shows and adverts. Mike loves being on stage performing, but is equally at home recording in a studio – where he has worked with Alex Von Soos (All Saints, Seal, Atomic Kitten), Mike Horner (The Prodigy, Shakira, Bloc Party), and Mike Chapman (Blondie, Suzi Quatro).

Mike’s a great guitar player and a good friend to Guitar Breaks!
